Acolytes, Lectors, and Sacristans are a fundamental part of our liturgical celebrations.
Sacristans help by preparing what is needed for mass to take place. They are trained to distinguish between the different celebrations such as regular mass, baptisms, weddings, quinceañeras, and know what is required for each situation. They know where to find the items such as host, purificators, chalices and how to set them properly for mass.
Acolytes help by assisting the priest during mass. They carry the thurible, candles, processional cross, the Roman Missal and help preparing the altar for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Lectors are trained to read the welcoming, intentions and announcements for mass and especially trained to proclaim the Scripture Readings and sing the Psalms.
If you are interested in becoming a Sacristan, Lector or Acolyte, please fill and submit the following form. If you don't hear from us within two weeks, please call the office to verify that you are on the training waiting list.
